Trincomalee is located on the North-Eastern coast of Sri Lanka. It is widely known for its naturally large deepwater harbours. The beaches are also used for many other activities such as fishing, whale and dolphin watching, scuba diving, etc. Not to mention the beauty of the beaches themselves which are clean, quiet, and calm. You could easily take a 10-minute boat ride from Nilaveli Beach and dive into the super clean water and explore the underwater marine life with some snorkelling gear. If you happen to visit Trincomalee anytime between March until August, you could go on a whale watching tour and hopefully catch a glimpse of the majestic water mammals themselves. You could also explore the many Hindu and Buddhist temples located all around the city. You could even visit Fort Frederik, which is used by the Sri Lankan military but is open for visitors, and even spot a wild deer roaming around.
